HERE I AM

Yeats hyper, Ezra crazy
And Hemingway blowing his brains out.

Here I am working away.
Looking into my word hoard.

Old English this.
A pearl of great price
And a mead hall full of beer.

Raise the tankard then
And celebrate awhile
The extent of their memories.

It is found right here
In these syllables of rhyme.
