GOLD!

Gold! 

Always in his head. Dreaming, dreaming, glistening gold just hidden a little up ahead. Got to find it today. This gold. Will make life turn and straighten up, the gold. Got to find it today. Been looking so many years. Lost so much in the hunt. Two wives and a daughter too. Got to dig it up today. Got to make life turn back right today. Grizzled beard. Parched broken up hands. Rippled out face. That is what time has done. This desert too. But mostly the gold...the hunting for the gold. Got to get it up today. Answer to everything. Way out of this desert land. Ticket to women and the easy life. The gold. Oh how it shines and beckons in the sun. The desert gold. Just up ahead. Gold!

TAMING OF THE TONGUE!

  Listening to the Presidential debate the other night I was reminded of comments made by James in the Bible about speaking and communicating.  What I love about James is how he is so straight forward and does not mince words. He clearly states, "But no man can tame the tongue. It an unruly evil, full of deadly poison." James 2:8(NKJV). It seems to me that the spewing of poison has become almost a national norm. What seems to be a "new normal" is just to rant and rave and say whatever comes to mind with absolutely NO FILTER as to the value or truth of what is being said. When I was growing up I heard things like "watch your mouth" and "think before you speak." Not to think before speaking was tagged mouthing off. Today the attitude is to let go with whatever is on your mind without any thought to its consequences.
